Article: Liverpool travel to United – Match Preview Coutin10

No Coutinho, Lallana and likely to be without Henderson too. Does that spell danger for Liverpool?

Fresh from the international break and not so fresh from the defeat to West Ham, Liverpool make the trip to Manchester this weekend with United in their sights. Can the Reds bounce back from the defeat to the Hammers? Or will Brendan’s Reds be making a short journey back to Merseyside seem much, much longer?

United’s attack has been awful so far this season, Rooney not hitting any sort of form has hindered them to the point that they threw £36mil at Monaco for a child that’s vastly inexperienced. Will he play this weekend? I doubt it, and because of that, I just can’t see where United will get their goals from. Sure, Rooney got that record for England earlier this week but that was from the penalty spot, not a 50 yard run past 8 players and a rabona past the keeper. Will he be the difference in the match? I feel that if he is the difference it won’t be just down to him, but Dejan Lovren.

Dejan, Dejan, Dejan… Where do we begin? After a not so great start to live last season, many Liverpool supporters believed that this would either be the season he got back to his Southampton ways, or Sakho took his spot back that he lost through injury. unfortunately for all concerned, it’s neither.. So far anyway. Sure, he’s had an OK start to the season if you blank out the West Ham match. As a football fan watching a £20mil defender do that at home though, it’s not so easy to just ignore.

Coutinho will be a huge miss for this game. He hasn’t had the best of starts either but he has become our most dangerous player in the final third. Vision, finesse, pace, ability to run at defenders.. He is a sight to behold when he’s on his day. A game like this, at Old Trafford, is a game that players like the little Brazilian grab a hold of and make a lasting memory for the travelling Kop to take away from the game.

A tight match is sure to be expected but as for a prediction? My heart tells me Liverpool, my head tells me happy with a draw. With the players missing and just after an international break, I think a point at Old Trafford would be a good result.

What are your thoughts Reds? Should Lovren be afforded another chance to put his mishaps against West Ham right? Who will start in place of the suspended Coutinho? Might we see Sturridge on the bench?
